You bombard a creature’s mind with a cascade of fragmented, contradictory illusions, overloading its senses. The target must make a Resolve defend roll contested by your Magic skill.
-
On a failure, the creature takes Mental stress points equal to the margin of failure plus d4.
-
If the target suffers a Mental Consequence as a direct result of this spell, it also becomes Dazed until the end of its next turn.
Stunts
Identity Erosion
If the target is already suffering from any Mental Consequence when this spell is cast, treat the margin of failure as 2 higher solely for the purpose of determining stress points dealt.
Fractured Reality
If the target fails by 2 or more, it must spend 1 AP on its next turn doing nothing as it struggles to distinguish illusion from reality. This AP loss is declared before any other action.
Cascade Hallucination
On any failure, the target also suffers two Disadvantage on all Perception skill checks until the end of the current scene, as phantom images linger at the edge of its vision.
Identity Erosion
If the target is already suffering from any Mental Consequence when this spell is cast, treat the margin of failure as 2 higher solely for the purpose of determining stress points dealt.
Reflective Torment
You may choose a second creature within 5 meters of the primary target. That creature takes Mental stress points equal to half the primary margin of failure (rounded down) as psychic backlash without requiring a separate check.
Shattered Focus
If the target is currently concentrating on a spell or magical effect, it must immediately make a Focus check against a difficulty equal to the stress points dealt or lose concentration entirely.
