You reach down through the earth with your will and find the heat that has always been there, patient and ancient. You give it permission to rise.
Choose a point on the ground you can see within 25 meters. Molten rock erupts in a 3-meter radius around that point. All creatures in the area must make a Reflex defend roll contested by your Magic skill.
-
On a failure, the creature takes Fire damage equal to the margin of failure and is coated in molten residue, taking 1d4 Fire damage at the start of each of its turns for 2 turns. The molten residue cannot be extinguished by mundane means (water, smothering) but can be ended by Remove Curse or similar magic.
-
The area becomes difficult terrain until the end of the scene.
Stunts
Deep Fissure
The eruption tears the ground open. The 3-meter radius also becomes a 2-meter-deep fissure. Creatures that fail the Reflex defend roll by a margin of 3 or more fall into the fissure and are additionally knocked Prone.
Sustained Heat
The molten residue lasts for a number of turns equal to your Magic skill instead of 2 turns.
Eruption Point
The radius of the surge increases to 5 meters.
Molten Shrapnel
When the magma erupts, fragments of superheated rock are launched outward. All creatures within 6 meters of the point (outside the main radius) must make a Reflex defend roll contested by your Magic skill or take 1d4 Fire damage from flying debris.
Lava Pool
After the initial eruption, the area remains lethally hot. Any creature that enters the affected area for the first time on a turn takes 1d4 Fire damage automatically for the rest of the scene.
