You reach into the magical field surrounding a creature and tear it clean. Not dispelling individual spells so much as stripping the surface of the target’s arcane state entirely — all the borrowed power, all the layered effects, all at once.
Choose a creature you can see within 30 meters. Make a Magic skill check contested by the target’s Focus skill.
-
On a success, all active spell effects currently enhancing the target end immediately. This includes buffs, ongoing concentration effects cast by the target, and any magical conditions with a duration (such as Charmed or Frightened) that were inflicted by a spell.
-
Effects that are part of a creature’s innate traits or class features are not affected.
Stunts
Suppression Field
After Null Mantle is applied, the target cannot benefit from new spell effects until the end of its next turn, as the stripped magical state resists being replenished immediately.
Scouring Pulse
After stripping magical effects, the target takes Mental damage equal to your Magic skill as the abrupt severance of magical energy lashes its mind.
Widened Null
You may target two creatures simultaneously when casting Null Mantle. Make a separate Magic roll for each.
Forcible Unbinding
Null Mantle also ends concentration effects that the target has own from other creatures.
Suppression Field
After Null Mantle is applied, the target cannot benefit from new spell effects until the end of its next turn, as the stripped magical state resists being replenished immediately.
Redirected Stripping
You may choose to redirect the stripped magical energy. If Null Mantle removes two or more effects, you gain a +1 bonus to your next Magic roll made before the end of your next turn.
