You touch a dead creature that has been dead for no more than 24 hours and did not die of old age. If its soul is free and willing, the target returns to life. This spell:
-
Neutralizes any poisons and cures all non-magical diseases the creature had when it died.
-
Closes all mortal wounds and restores any missing body parts.
-
Does not restore mana, stress, or consequences — those must be healed normally.
Casting this spell requires 1 hour of ritual with uninterrupted focus, usually in a calm, safe environment. You can only cast this spell once per long rest.
Stunts
Second Chance
By spending an additional 2 Mana, you can extend the range of the spell to resurrect a creature that has been dead for up to 1 week.
Protective Binding
The resurrected creature gains a temporary +2 bonus to all defend rolls until the end of the scene, as a residue of the divine energy that pulled them back.
Shared Life
You may choose to take one Consequence (Mild, Moderate, or Severe — player’s choice) permanently to heal one Consequence of the same severity on the resurrected creature.
Soul Beacon
You may cast this spell on a corpse even if its soul has wandered. Spend an additional five mana to attempt to summon the soul back. The soul must make a Resolve defend roll against a DC set by the GM (typically 3 + the number of days the creature has been dead). On success, the spell works.
Remembrance Seal
The revived creature gains a permanent +1 to Resolve checks against fear or death effects, having now faced death and returned.
