You do not attack a creature. You look at it, and you see the moment it fails. Then you make that moment real.
Choose a creature you can see within 40 meters. The target must make a Resolve skill check contested by your Magic skill. On a failure, you place a Doom Mark on the target.
-
While Marked, you are aware of the creature’s exact location at all times, even through walls, at any range, as long as you are on the same plane.
-
The first time the Marked creature fails any skill check or attack roll while the mark is active, the Doom triggers. The creature immediately takes Physical and Mental damage each equal to your Magic skill + d6.
-
You may maintain the mark on only one creature at a time. Placing a new Doom Mark ends the previous one.
-
The mark is invisible. The target does not know it has been marked unless it uses magic capable of detecting active spells.
Stunts
Catastrophic Trigger
When the Doom triggers, the target is also knocked Prone. If the target’s Mental Stress Pool is at 0 and it takes a Mental Consequence from the Doom’s damage, it also becomes Dazed until the end of its next turn as the sudden simultaneous damage overwhelms it.
Cascading Doom
When the Doom triggers, all creatures within 5 meters of the target must make a Resolve vs your Magic check or take Mental damage equal to your Magic skill as the psychic detonation radiates outward.
Inescapable
The Doom Mark persists through death — if the marked creature is resurrected while the mark is active, the mark remains. The Doom triggers on the first failed roll after resurrection as normal.
Double Doom
You may maintain two Doom Marks simultaneously. You must concentrate on both. If your concentration is broken, both marks end.
Witnessed Inevitability
When the Doom triggers, all creatures that can see the target must make a Resolve vs your Magic check. On a failure, the creature takes mental damage equal to the margin of failure. If its Mental Stress Pool is at 0 and it takes a Mental Consequence, it becomes Frightened of you until the end of their next turn, as the catastrophic collapse of fate is witnessed in real time.
